Mudgee, a charming town just a 3.5-hour drive from Sydney, has earned recognition as Australia's Top Tourism Town (two years in a row) thanks to its vibrant community of artisans who put the tiny town on the map.

This not-so-hidden gem (anymore) boasts a rich winemaking heritage dating back to the mid-19th century, making it one of Australia's earliest wine regions, thanks to its unique terroir with distinctive soils and a temperate mountain-influenced climate.

Beyond its bread-and-butter wine, Mudgee caters to craft beer enthusiasts with a growing microbrewery scene, and the town's distillery is gaining acclaim for its artisanal gin, vodka, and spirits crafted from locally sourced ingredients.

Whether you're drawn by its wine heritage or the emerging distilleries and breweries, Mudgee promises an unforgettable experience for connoisseurs of fine beverages.

Today, their daughter Jessica Chrcek and her partner Jay oversee the family-run winery, known as Mudgee's highest cellar door, offering sweeping 180-degree mountain views.
